Recanati hosts Lucas Cranach the Elder masterpiece via art exchange

The Museo Civico di Villa Colloredo Mels in Recanati has unveiled Lucas Cranach the Elder’s ‘Madonna delle fragole’ to the public. The painting arrived from the Diocesan Museum of Freising-Munich as part of a cultural exchange program.

In return, Lorenzo Lotto’s ‘Annunciation’ has been sent to Bavaria to be displayed in Freising. Local officials, including Recanati Mayor Emanuele Pepa, described the initiative as a way to promote the region’s cultural identity in Germany and foster European artistic dialogue.
