Imam Hatip Congress held in Trabzon with messages from Erdoğan and Tekin

The 23rd Imam Hatip Congress was held in Trabzon, organized by the ÖNDER Imam Hatip Association. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a video message to the event, stating that Imam Hatip graduates are serving the country in various sectors, including defense, politics, and academia. He characterized the current state of these schools as a sign of Turkey's normalization after overcoming previous restrictions and 'tutelage shackles.'

National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin also spoke at the congress, reflecting on the historical challenges faced by Imam Hatip schools, particularly during the February 28 process when student numbers dropped significantly. He credited President Erdoğan for the revitalization of these institutions. Tekin also addressed the importance of the 'Terror-free Turkey' process for social welfare and democracy, and issued a warning regarding the impact of artificial intelligence and algorithms on child development.

Additionally, the Diyanet Affairs President, Safi Arpaguş, emphasized that Imam Hatip schools serve as institutions for moral and religious education, aiming to provide a foundation of wisdom and compassion. Separately, Türk Eğitim-Sen announced that the grievances of 1,611 teachers regarding interview processes were resolved through the PİKTES project.
