Recklinghausen allocates millions for affordable housing project

The Recklinghausen district is providing over 4.5 million euros in subsidies to support the construction of affordable housing in Recklinghausen-Süd. The project is being led by the church and Diakonie through the renovation of an existing building and the construction of a new one at the corner of Bochumer Straße and Magdalenenstraße.

The development will include a total of 32 new subsidized housing units, along with meeting and counseling rooms. A specific component of the project is the creation of assisted living spaces designed for homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness, aimed at helping them transition toward independent living. The new construction for the Protestant parish will consist of 23 apartments ranging from 35 to 42 square meters.
