Recklinghausen District marks 50th anniversary with regional commemorative brochure

The Recklinghausen District is celebrating its 50th anniversary in its current form with the release of a special commemorative brochure titled ‘50 Years – 50 Places’. The publication highlights 50 significant locations across the district's ten constituent cities, showcasing the region's industrial culture, nature, history, and leisure activities, including mines, museums, and zoos. District Administrator Bodo Klimpel described the brochure as an invitation to rediscover the diversity of the area. The booklet is available for free in print at the district office and local town halls, as well as in a digital format online.

In Haltern am See, the upcoming Feierabendmarkt is scheduled for Thursday, August 20. The event, which serves as a community gathering for food, drinks, and music, will take place at the market square.
