Recklinghausen hosts bicycle safety demonstration and music night

Recklinghausen hosted two distinct community events on September 19. The 27th Recklinghausen Music Night transformed the city center into a music mile, featuring various musical genres in local pubs and venues. Attendees used entry wristbands to access different locations, with the evening concluding with an aftershow party at the Ratskeller.

Earlier that day, the ADFC and the initiative Aufbruch KlimaVest organized a bicycle demonstration starting at the city hall. The approximately eight-kilometer route through heavily trafficked streets aimed to advocate for improved traffic safety, particularly for children and adolescents. Key demands included better protection for cyclists on roads and sidewalks, specifically addressing the issue of cars parking on pedestrian paths.
