ReconAfrica tests Kavango West gas samples in Namibia

Reconnaissance Energy Africa (ReconAfrica) is currently analyzing hydrocarbon samples from its Kavango West discovery in Namibia to determine the liquid content of the gas. This follows a production test that successfully flowed gas and liquids from two separate zones and formations to the surface. The samples have been sent to the United States for detailed analysis.

Following this milestone, the company is preparing to drill a horizontal well extending nearly 1,000 meters to assess reservoir production potential and commercial viability. ReconAfrica plans to follow this with a second appraisal well and horizontal test to gather the technical data necessary for a final investment decision.

In a separate corporate development, ReconAfrica has appointed Ryan Kubik as an independent member of its Board of Directors. Kubik, who has over 30 years of experience in energy and finance, is expected to support the company’s strategy as it advances its portfolio in Namibia, Angola, and Gabon.
