Record Participation at SAWMILL Knittel Tournament in Gschwandt, Austria
On Saturday 25 July 2026, the SAWMILL Knittel tournament was held at the Lahnermühle in Gschwandt, Upper Austria. A record 48 teams (originally 52, with four withdrawing) and about 300 spectators took part. The event was organised by the Sportunion St. Konrad and the GARAGE 2.0 club, with Joachim Wallner serving as chief organiser. Good weather allowed the competition to start at 11:00 a.m., and the tournament was overseen by turnierleiter and referee Johann “Pauli” Raffelsberger.
After several rounds, four teams reached the final. EKC Rheintal won the title and a €500 prize, FF Pettenbach placed second with €300, ASKÖ Vorchdorf third with €200 and KALKI'S fourth with €100. Teams ranked lower received a box of Eggenberger beer as consolation. The prize‑giving ceremony and after‑show party were held outdoors in the Knittel arena, and the tournament concluded without any injuries or incidents.
