Record Russian casualties reported at Ukraine's Lyman front line

Ukrainian military spokesperson Viktor Trehubov said Russian forces are concentrating a major ground effort on the town of Lyman in eastern Ukraine, viewing it as a stepping stone toward the larger urban centers of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. The troops are employing continuous infiltration tactics, sending small infantry units to slip through gaps and establish thin control zones along the front.

Trehubov reported that these attacks are costing Moscow unprecedented manpower losses, estimating about 270 Russian casualties per day in the operational zone this week. Despite a steady supply of equipment and fresh troops, the Russian side is suffering “record losses,” while Ukrainian units remain largely holding their positions and probing the line for further weaknesses.
