Recording Academy admits Turkish musicians as voting members

The Recording Academy has expanded its membership to include music professionals from Turkey, marking a significant institutional step for the Turkish music industry. Through a collaboration involving All Stars Music Türkiye, a group of Turkish artists, songwriters, composers, and producers have been accepted as members with voting rights for the Grammy Awards.

Among the new members are Büşra Kayıkçı, Edis, Hadise, Kum, Mabel Matiz, Mert Demir, Melike Şahin, Murat Ertel (Baba Zula), Orkun Tunç, Ozan Doğulu, Sıla, Toygar Işıklı, and the group Manifest. These individuals will be eligible to submit their work for consideration for the 69th Grammy Awards and participate in the voting process to determine nominees.

Taymoor Marmarchi, Global General Manager of the Recording Academy, noted that this inclusion is a major step for both Turkish music and the global community, highlighting Turkey’s rich musical heritage. The official Grammy nominees are scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026, with the awards ceremony set for February 7, 2027.
