Recreo District Neighborhoods Mobilize Flood Prevention Ahead of El Niño Rains

Leaders of the San Camilo, Nobleza and Parque neighborhood associations met with Power Max Medios to assess flood risks as the El Niño weather pattern threatens heavy precipitation in the Recreo district. The presidents—Pablo Martín (San Camilo), Juan Aparicio (Nobleza) and Pablo Pérez (Parque)—called for urgent cleaning of drainage channels, ditches and culverts, stressing that proper maintenance and community responsibility are essential to avoid waterlogging.

They urged both municipal authorities and residents to cooperate, noting past delays in cleanup work and the need for a coordinated effort to protect vulnerable areas, especially in the low‑lying Barrio Parque. The meeting highlighted ongoing concerns about debris accumulation and the importance of sustained preventive actions before the expected rains arrive.
