Recruiters Warn AI Standardizes CVs and Push for Integrated Tools

A study of 500 recruiters commissioned by Tellent found that 82% believe AI standardises candidate profiles, making it harder to differentiate applicants, and 73% say this biases the hiring process. While 69% consider AI integrated into their own tools essential to restore discernment, 81% of those already using AI say candidate‑generated AI further skews selection.

Recruiter Vincent Tallepied highlights practical signs of AI‑crafted CVs and cover letters, such as flawless spelling, overly perfect formatting, excessive buzzwords and direct copying of job‑ad language, which can strip personality from applications. He advises candidates to use AI for an initial edit but then add genuine experiences and personal touches before interview.

Both articles underscore a paradox: recruiters view AI as both a source of concern and a necessary aid to manage the surge of automated applications while preserving human judgement in hiring.
