Recursos de Galicia launches €100‑150 million capital raise to fund wind farms and expand renewable assets

Recursos de Galicia (RDG), the public‑private energy company backed by the Xunta de Galicia, will increase its share capital from €43.6 million to a range of €100.6 million‑€150.9 million. The capital increase is expected to raise up to €107 million by allowing existing partners and new private investors to subscribe. The proceeds will be used to acquire additional wind‑farm assets, including the Mondigo park bought from Banco Sabadell’s renewable subsidiary, and to support other renewable projects in the region. The plan is presented as a way to keep the economic benefits of Galicia’s natural resources within the community, stabilise electricity costs for local businesses and offer up to an 80 % discount on power bills for households within 1.8 km of the parks. The Xunta will contribute in kind, transferring its 30.92 % stake in Nedgia Galicia and the 3‑4 % stakes it holds in six Inega wind parks. The capital raise is intended to give RDG the financial muscle to continue its strategy of providing competitive, locally sourced electricity to Galicians.
