Industrial fires strike recycling and door factories in Bolu and Düzce

Two major industrial fires occurred in Turkey, affecting facilities in Bolu and Düzce.

In the Gerede district of Bolu, a fire broke out at a recycling plant within the Organized Industrial Zone. The blaze, which began around 19:00, spread rapidly and caused explosions due to materials like barrels and spray cans. After approximately five hours of firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control. Two workers sustained minor injuries, including one with burns and another with breathing difficulties, and were hospitalized. The facility suffered extensive damage, leaving much of the site in ruins.

In Düzce, a large fire erupted at the Düzce Door factory, which produces wooden doors and American panels. The fire was reported by drivers on the D-100 highway and spread quickly due to the flammable nature of the materials. Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü confirmed that while the fire caused significant concern, there were no reported deaths or serious injuries. Firefighting teams from Düzce and Bolu were deployed to combat the flames. Investigations into the causes of both fires are ongoing.
