Recz harvest festival disrupted by windstorm, causing four injuries

A sudden windstorm disrupted harvest festival celebrations in Recz, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, resulting in four injuries. The incident occurred in the Municipal Park when strong gusts caused tree branches to break and fall onto participants and event structures.

One 44-year-old man was critically injured and required resuscitation at the scene before being airlifted by the Air Ambulance (LPR) to a hospital in Szczecin. Two other victims were transported by ambulance to hospitals in Stargard and Choszcze, while a fourth individual sought medical attention independently in Choszcze.

Police and prosecutors are investigating the circumstances of the event. While some neighboring municipalities canceled their celebrations due to meteorological warnings, the event in Recz proceeded. Authorities are looking into whether the organizers, the Municipal and Communal Culture and Sports Center, received adequate weather alerts.
