Recz, Poland Wheat Field Fire Destroys 58 Hectares

On 30 July 2026, a fire broke out in a wheat field near the village of Recz in Poland’s West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The blaze quickly spread, consuming roughly 58 hectares of wheat and threatening a nearby forest.

Local farmers attempted to contain the flames with disc‑harrow firebreaks before fire crews arrived. Several volunteer fire brigades, the Choszczno County State Fire Service, and aerial firefighting units dropped water twice, delivering eight water streams before the fire was fully extinguished. Representatives of the Drawno Forest Service and police also assisted in the operation.
