Red Bull asks FIA to re‑check F1 ADUO engine power rankings

Red Bull Ford Powertrains has formally requested the FIA to review the results of the first ADUO (Additional Upgrade and Development Opportunities) assessment, after the data showed its internal‑combustion engine as the benchmark for the season. The FIA has opened a new verification process, re‑examining sensor data and calculations, with a decision expected within ten days.

The provisional ADUO figures indicate Mercedes’ ICE power trails by 2‑4% and would qualify for one upgrade this year and another next season, while Ferrari, Audi and Honda are more than 4% behind, earning two upgrades this year and two in 2027. The review also highlights broader concerns about the measurement method, which links ICE power to additional electrical upgrades, potentially allowing strategic manipulation of development opportunities.
