Red Bull converts championship-winning F1 car into Madrid Metro train

To celebrate the return of Formula 1 to Madrid, Red Bull has converted its 2012 championship-winning RB8 into a vehicle capable of running on the Madrid Metro tracks. The engineering project, a collaboration between the Red Bull Heritage Team and the Spanish creative collective Andtonic, involved fitting the car with bespoke metal wheels weighing 29.8kg.

Former F1 driver Patrick Friesacher operated the modified car on a closed network of tracks, traveling between the Sacedal and Chamartín depots and passing the Estadio Metropolitano station. The stunt marks the first time the F1 championship has raced in Madrid since 1981.
