Red Bull driver lineup faces uncertainty as Sainz and Pérez futures debated

Formula 1 teams are weighing driver changes for the 2024‑2025 seasons. Carlos Sainz Jr., a former Red Bull junior, is being linked with a possible return to the team, supported by his race‑winner pedigree, consistent performances with Ferrari and familiarity with Red Bull’s operations. However, Red Bull’s decision will also depend on the performance of current teammate Sergio "Checo" Pérez, whose contract runs through the end of 2024.

Pérez’s future is under scrutiny after a season marked by inconsistent qualifying and race results compared with team‑mate Max Verstappen. The team expects a teammate who can regularly secure points and aid Verstappen’s championship bid. If Pérez’s performance falters, Red Bull may consider alternatives, including Sainz, to fill the seat.

Both drivers’ situations are subject to internal team politics, contractual negotiations and the broader driver market, making the outcome uncertain at this stage.
