Red Bull evaluates Isack Hadjar's return for Baku Grand Prix
Red Bull is monitoring the recovery of driver Isack Hadjar following a wrist injury sustained during a training accident involving a boxing bag. Hadjar has missed the last three Grand Prix, with Liam Lawson stepping in as his replacement.
Team Principal Laurent Mekies stated that Hadjar’s health is the absolute priority and that the team will not rush his return. To ensure he is ready for the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Hadjar will undergo intensive simulator testing to assess his ability to handle real-world racing stresses. If the tests show he is near 100% capacity, he will return to the cockpit; otherwise, the team will continue to prioritize his long-term recovery.
Liam Lawson, who has performed well during his substitute stint by scoring points in two races, remains on standby. A final decision regarding the driver lineup for Baku is expected to be made shortly before the race weekend, likely between Wednesday and Thursday.
