Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup holds selection event in Spain

The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Selection Event for the 2027 season is taking place at the Guadix Circuit in southern Spain. A total of 127 young riders from 45 different nations have been invited to compete for six available openings in the program.

The selection process spans three days. Approximately half of the riders will participate on the first day, with the remaining half following on the second day. A four-person selection committee will then determine which riders are invited to ride again on the third day to finalize the short list for the 2027 season.

Among the international participants, the United States has significant representation with 10 riders, including Mahdi Salem, Nathan Bettencourt, and Julian Correa. Canada is also represented by Eric Sergi and Lachlan Alexander. Notable Dutch candidates include Quinn de Joode, Luuk de Vries, Milan Hunneman, and Mick Koomen.
