Red Bull Racing extends Laurent Mekies' contract until 2031
Red Bull Racing has officially extended the contract of CEO and Team Principal Laurent Mekies until the end of the 2031 season. The announcement was made by shareholder Mark Mateschitz at the team's headquarters in Milton Keynes, following recent victories by Max Verstappen in Malaysia and Singapore.
Mekies, who assumed leadership in July 2025 following the departure of Christian Horner, is being credited by shareholders Chalerm Yoovidhya and Mark Mateschitz for successfully guiding the team through a critical transition period. Red Bull management emphasized that the extension aims to ensure long-term stability, following recent contract renewals for driver Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar.
The decision comes as the team navigates its first season as a power unit manufacturer. Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff praised Mekies for combining technical expertise with strategic thinking and embodying the core values of the organization.
