Red Bull Salzburg Favored to Win Austrian Bundesliga Title, Coaches Survey Shows

A poll of twelve Austrian Bundesliga coaches conducted by the APA found a clear consensus that Red Bull Salzburg is the favourite to clinch the 2026‑27 league championship. Coaches Dietmar Kühbauer (LASK), Fabio Ingolitsch (Sturm Graz), Ognjen Zarić (Altach) and Markus Mader (Austria Lustenau) all tipped the “Bullen” as the top contender. Additional coaches Stephan Helm (Austria), Thomas Silberberger (WAC) and Ferdinand Feldhofer (GAK) also listed Salzburg among the most promising teams.

Other respondents offered alternative bets: Markus Schopp (Hartberg) believes LASK could successfully defend its title, while Johannes Hoff Thorup (Rapid) and several others declined to name a clear favorite, citing the ongoing transfer window. New Salzburg head coach Danny Röhl warned that Rapid could pose a threat but maintained that his side should be seen as the leading title‑candidate. The survey underscores expectations of a tight race involving Salzburg, LASK, Sturm Graz, Rapid and other clubs.
