Isack Hadjar returns to Red Bull and signs extension through 2027

Isack Hadjar is set to return to the Red Bull Racing cockpit for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit following a recovery from a wrist injury. The injury forced Hadjar to miss the previous three races in the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain, during which Liam Lawson served as his replacement.

Alongside his return, Red Bull has officially announced that Hadjar has signed a contract extension to remain with the team through the 2027 season. He will continue to partner Max Verstappen, who is under contract until 2030. Team Principal Laurent Mekies praised Hadjar’s professionalism and commitment to development during his time with the team.

The return of Hadjar triggers a reshuffle within the Red Bull driver lineup: Liam Lawson will move back to his regular seat at the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, and Yuki Tsunoda will return to his role as a reserve driver.

Due to Azerbaijan Remembrance Day on September 27, the race schedule for the Baku Grand Prix has been moved forward, with all sessions, including the race, taking place on Saturday, September 26.
