Red Bull to overhaul car design for 2027 season
Red Bull Racing technical director Pierre Waché has revealed that the team intends to carry over very little from the current RB22 model to the 2027 RB23. Despite a season of significant performance swings—ranging from a 1.5-second deficit at the start of the year to recent victories for Max Verstappen in Malaysia and Singapore—the team is prioritizing a major overhaul.
Waché stated that the team has identified numerous areas for improvement in aerodynamics, packaging, and mechanical components. While this approach of developing many new parts is not ideal for managing the budget cap, the team believes it is necessary to maximize performance. Key components, including the chassis and gearbox, are expected to be different for the 2027 car.
