Red Bull to return as Honda MotoGP factory sponsor in 2027

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has officially announced the return of Red Bull as a primary sponsor for its MotoGP factory team, effective from the 2027 season. This partnership marks the end of a four-year hiatus following Red Bull’s departure in 2023 after Marc Marquez left the team.

The agreement coincides with the introduction of new MotoGP technical regulations featuring 850cc engines. HRC President Koji Watanabe stated that having partners with shared ambitions is vital as the championship enters this new era. The deal is expected to result in a more prominent brand presence for Red Bull on Honda’s machinery compared to previous collaborations.

The sponsorship shift also impacts rider contracts. Because factory team agreements take precedence over individual rider deals, Fabio Quartararo, Honda’s lead rider for 2027, will end his long-standing relationship with Monster Energy. Reports indicate that Honda provided the compensation required to terminate Quartararo’s existing contract with the energy drink brand.
