Red Bull's hidden weight‑saving upgrades spark B‑spec car speculation after Austrian GP

Red Bull arrived at the Austrian Grand Prix with a large package of upgrades. The FIA‑published list recorded seven aerodynamic modifications, including changes to radiator inlets, the engine cover, the upper and lower flat‑bottom, rear side‑pods and rear‑suspension fairings. Former Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas, now a team ambassador, said on the "Talking Bull" podcast that "most of the changes are aimed at aerodynamic flow" and described the car as looking like a "B‑spec" version. He also questioned how much of the performance gain resulted from a concealed weight‑reduction programme, noting the team started the year overweight. The updates helped Max Verstappen finish second and earned the team 26 points, with Isack Hadjar sixth.

Nicholas suggested that small gains from weight loss and the declared upgrades together boosted Red Bull's competitiveness at their home circuit.
