Cruz Roja expands emergency capacity in Juárez and launches logistics hub in Valladolid

In Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the Red Cross operates 14 ambulances but can deploy only three per shift because of limited paramedic staffing. Director Norma Domínguez said the unit currently has 28 paramedics and aims to add at least five more ambulances to improve response times as demand rises and financial pressures increase due to inflation and lower donations.

In Castilla y León, Spain, the regional Red Cross inaugurated a new logistics center in Zaratán near Valladolid. President Rosa Urbón and emergency head Ángel García explained that the facility centralizes equipment—including over 1,000 beds, 5,000 blankets, tents and hygiene kits—and is already supporting fire‑fighting operations and 14 shelters in Ávila affected by recent forest fires. Both initiatives are intended to strengthen pre‑hospital and disaster‑response capabilities.
