Red Cross in Ferrol targeted by hate crime and Nazi vandalism
The Red Cross delegation in Ferrol, Spain, has been targeted in a new act of vandalism involving hate speech and Nazi symbolism. The attack, which occurred on a Friday, included the painting of a swastika on a teleassistance van and the breaking of a passenger-side window.
This incident follows a similar attack on the organization's headquarters and vehicles in April. The recent graffiti included xenophobic messages such as ‘Mafia da invasión’ and ‘Traidores’, alongside Nazi imagery. Local labor unions, including CIG and CCOO, as well as political parties like the PSOE and BNG, have issued strong condemnations, labeling the acts as hate crimes rather than mere vandalism.
Union representatives and political groups have called for a firm social response to combat rising fascism and xenophobia in the city. A mobilization to condemn these aggressions has been proposed for the following Monday.
