Red Cross inaugurates new logistics hub in Lavis, Trentino
The Italian Red Cross (Comitato Provinciale del Trentino) has inaugurated a new provincial logistics hub in Lavis to enhance emergency response and civil protection capabilities. The facility covers over 3,600 square meters, including 2,149 square meters of indoor space and 1,514 square meters of outdoor area.
Funded by a contribution of approximately 1.8 million euros from the Autonomous Province of Trento, the center is designed to centralize vehicles and equipment for rapid deployment. The hub houses a wide range of resources, including ambulances, off-road vehicles, water pumps, motorized boats, a catamaran for flood rescue, and mobile medical units. It also contains essential infrastructure such as mobile operating rooms, tents, generators, and lighting towers to manage large-scale crises and mountain interventions.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several officials, including the President of the Province, Maurizio Fugatti, and the President of the Red Cross of Trentino, Sergio Bonadio. Fugatti noted that the new facility strengthens the entire provincial civil protection system by improving the organization and speed of emergency interventions.
