Red de Pueblos de Película launches inaugural awards for Spanish film villages
The Red de Pueblos de Película is launching the first edition of the Pueblos de Película Awards this autumn. The awards aim to recognize municipalities that leverage their audiovisual heritage to create tourism, cultural, and developmental opportunities.
A total of 27 Spanish municipalities are participating in this inaugural edition. These locations range from towns linked to major cinematic productions to smaller villages that utilize film history and festivals as promotional resources. Participating towns include Alfarnatejo, Ayna, Cardona, Peñíscola, and many others across various Spanish regions.
The winner of the ‘Best Film Village’ category will be determined by public vote, which remains open until October 25. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, November 13, during the INTUR International Inland Tourism Fair in Valladolid. The event will feature the presentation of awards, including a ‘Revelation Village’ distinction, alongside colloquiums and experience exchanges.
