Red Deer Homeless Foundation advances Project Nexus construction

The Red Deer Homeless Foundation is moving closer to the construction of Project Nexus, a dedicated homeless shelter and social care campus. CEO Darcy Mykytyshyn stated that the foundation aims to begin construction within the next 60 days, with the possibility of the shelter opening to clients this winter.

During a recent Leadership Luncheon held at Westerner Park, humanitarian and author Joe Roberts spoke to an audience of over 400 people regarding the complexities of homelessness. Roberts, who transitioned from experiencing homelessness and addiction to becoming a successful entrepreneur and leader of the Push for Change movement, emphasized the importance of organizational collaboration and resource sharing to build capacity and centralize essential services.
