Red Deer RCMP arrest 43 people during two-day warrant round-up
Red Deer RCMP conducted a two-day warrant round-up between August 26 and 27, resulting in 43 arrests and the execution of 126 arrest warrants. The RCMP stated they are utilizing “intelligent-led strategies to conduct targeted enforcement” to ensure community safety.
Notable incidents during the enforcement period included the arrest of a 37-year-old resident wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching parole conditions. Additionally, a 20-year-old was apprehended after fleeing police; the individual was found with an imitation firearm and imitation brass knuckles and was found to be in breach of multiple probation and release orders.
In the period leading up to the round-up, the Red Deer Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team and the Alberta Sheriff FASST team also made significant arrests, including a 30-year-old wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and a 37-year-old resident facing 10 outstanding warrants.
