Netherlands national team unveils Xavi Hernández coaching staff

Xavi Hernández has finalized the coaching staff for the Netherlands national team following his appointment to succeed Ronald Koeman. The technical team is designed to blend Dutch expertise with Xavi’s trusted associates.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue his role as an assistant coach, providing continuity within the squad. Joining him is Adil Ramzi, a former Netherlands U19 manager with extensive experience in Dutch football, including roles at PSV Eindhoven. The staff also includes Xavi’s brother, Óscar Hernández, and Sergio Alegre, both of whom have worked with him at FC Barcelona and Al Sadd.

Other key appointments include Patrick Lodewijks, returning as goalkeeping coach, and Iván Torres, who will serve as the performance coach. KNVB director Nigel de Jong noted that while Pep Guardiola and Arne Slot were high-profile candidates during the search, Xavi was ultimately selected for his passion, personality, and alignment with the Dutch football identity. His contract with the national team is set to run until 2030.
