Red Hook Studios announces Darkest Dungeon DLC “The Fire’s Edge”

Red Hook Studios has announced “The Fire’s Edge,” a new downloadable content (DLC) for the dungeon-crawling RPG Darkest Dungeon. Scheduled for release on August 18, 2026, the expansion marks the game’s 10th anniversary and is the first major DLC since “The Butcher’s Circus” six years ago.

The update will integrate mechanics and characters from the sequel, Darkest Dungeon II. New playable classes include the Duelist, a high-skill combatant that switches between offensive and defensive stances, and the Runaway, an attacker utilizing a new “Burn” combat mechanic.

Additional features include three new hamlet districts—the Academie Duello, Craftworks, and Archaeological Base Camp—alongside new trinkets with mechanics such as Trigger Uses, Quest Charges, and Progressive Trinkets. The DLC will be available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Nintendo platforms, with an Xbox release scheduled for a later date.
