Red Hot Chili Peppers perform at Silverlake Conservatory benefit
The Red Hot Chili Peppers headlined a special benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music (SCM). The event, which replaced the organization’s traditional private dinner, featured a diverse lineup including the Foo Fighters and Vince Staples.
During their set, the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed several rare tracks, including the first performance of ‘Organic Anti-Beat Box Band’ since 2000 and ‘Blackeyed Blonde’ since 2000. Guitarist John Frusciante also performed a solo cover of Carole King’s ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?’, marking his first time playing the song since 2007.
Founded in 2001 by bassist Flea, Keith ‘Tree’ Barry, and Peter Weiss, the SCM provides music lessons to over 1,000 students weekly and supports more than 200 students through a scholarship program. The evening also featured performances by SCM student ensembles, the SCM All Stars and the Hollywood Highsteppers, and included a birthday celebration for Flea.
