Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet’s shoulder inflammation pushes back return

Garrett Crochet, the Boston Red Sox’s left‑handed ace, was placed on the 15‑day injured list on April 29 because of left‑shoulder inflammation.

Recovery has been slower than expected. After a catch session and a 20‑pitch bullpen outing at Fenway, Crochet said, “It has taken a little bit longer than I had originally hoped, but today was a good day.” The team plans additional bullpen work before live‑batters, aiming for a possible return in late May or early June.
