Dejan Stanković urges Red Star youngsters to raise tempo after 2‑1 win in Austria

Red Star Belgrade's football team opened its preseason camp in Austria with a 2‑1 friendly victory over Austrian side Amsteten. Goals were scored by captain Mirko Ivanić and striker Enem, giving the Serbian champions a comfortable start.

Coach Dejan Stanković praised the overall performance but stressed that the squad needs to tighten up tactical and technical details. He warned the younger players to "increase the speed and put it in the fifth" to compete at a higher level. Stanković noted that no one was injured and that the team must avoid conceding from set‑pieces and transitions.

The next scheduled friendly is against Slovak club Slovan Bratislava on 29 June, while the Serbian SuperLiga season begins on 18 July. Red Star will also take part in a preparatory tournament in Cyprus later in September, featuring clubs such as Olympiakos, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Aris.
