The scoring began with an own goal by Copenhagen's Gastarov in the 29th minute. Red Star responded quickly through Timi Maks Elšnik to equalize, before Vasilije Kostov scored a spectacular long-range goal that hit the crossbar to give the home side a 2-1 lead.
