Red Star Belgrade prepares for UEFA Conference League campaign

Red Star Belgrade is preparing for its start in the UEFA Conference League, beginning with an away match against Lugano on October 15. The club's upcoming schedule in the league phase includes fixtures against Copenhagen, Gent, Iberia, Trabzonspor, and Inter Escaldes.

While the club has expressed ambitious goals of reaching the quarter-finals or even the semi-finals, there is concern regarding fan engagement due to the team competing in the third-tier European competition rather than the Champions or Europa Leagues. To secure a place in the knockout stages, the team will likely need to earn between 11 and 13 points during the six league rounds.

Former player Richmond Boakye reflected on the intense atmosphere at the Rajko Mitić Stadium during previous European campaigns, noting the importance of team unity. Red Star is scheduled to host FC Copenhagen at home on October 22.
