RedBird Capital explores Al Nassr stake for multi-club model
Gerry Cardinale, CEO of RedBird Capital, is exploring the expansion of his multi-club ownership model, which currently includes AC Milan in Italy and Toulouse FC in France. Preliminary and indirect contacts have been made to evaluate the possibility of including the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in the network.
The proposed expansion aims to create synergies between clubs through shared scouting, data, and organizational resources. While the interest in Al Nassr represents a significant opportunity to enter the expanding Saudi market, the deal is currently in its early stages and faces significant regulatory and logistical hurdles.
The potential move coincides with reports that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is considering a strategy to reduce its stake in several local clubs, including Al Nassr, to make them more attractive to international minority investors.
