Rede Clima Municipal joins UN Global Climate Action platform
The Rede Clima Municipal, an initiative by the Associação Brasileira de Municípios (ABM) in partnership with the Fundação Nacional de Saúde (Funasa), has been integrated into the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Global Climate Action platform.
The platform recognizes and tracks climate actions taken by cities, subnational governments, and cooperative initiatives worldwide. The Rede Clima Municipal is being recognized as a “cooperative for climate” due to its institutional articulation and its role in strengthening the capacity of small municipalities.
The project currently supports 38 municipalities by assisting in the creation of Local Adaptation Plans, which provide structured guidance for mitigation and adaptation efforts. This initiative aligns with the COP30 Presidency's Action Agenda to strengthen resilience and adaptation capabilities.
