Rede Expressos expands bus services to Alentejo Coast
Rede Expressos is expanding its operations in the Alentejo Coast starting September 1. The company is introducing a new route connecting Lisbon to Sines, which will include stops in Comporta, Carvalhal, Melides, and Alcácer do Sal, as well as existing stops in Setúbal and Santo André.
The expansion follows a significant increase in demand, with passenger numbers between Lisbon Oriente and Sines rising approximately 60% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2025. The company noted that the growth in Comporta, Carvalhal, and Melides is driven by tourism, real estate, and construction projects, while Alcácer do Sal is experiencing residential and economic dynamism.
The new service will offer two daily connections in each direction. From Lisbon to Sines, departures are scheduled for 10:00 and 18:15, while from Sines to Lisbon, departures are at 06:00 and 14:00. Tickets for the new stops start at 2.95 euros.
