Rede Mário Gatti fines company R$ 250,700 over construction delays

The Rede Municipal Dr. Mário Gatti has issued fines totaling R$ 250,700 against Nordeo Construções e Logística Ltda. The penalties stem from delays in the renovation and expansion of the reception and waiting area at UPA São José in Campinas.

The company failed to complete the installation of the unit’s climate control and exhaust systems, missing a self-imposed deadline of October 5. In addition to the fines, administrative proceedings have been opened to investigate further penalties, which could include being barred from bidding on public contracts or being declared unfit to contract with the government.

The municipal network intends to activate the contractual insurance to finalize the pending works. The project, originally valued at R$ 1,253,976.82, has already seen improvements such as increased seating capacity and expanded restroom facilities, and the UPA remains operational during the process.
