Redevelop Group acquires iconic Königsallee property

The iconic Galeria department store property located at Königsallee 1-9 in Düsseldorf has been sold to the Amsterdam-based Redevelop Group. The transaction, which was finalized on a Friday, involves the 45,000 square meter complex.

The property was previously part of the Signa Group, founded by René Benko, and was being managed by insolvency administrator Torsten Martini to recover funds for creditors. The sale process for this specific luxury real estate asset lasted approximately 18 months, significantly longer than the anticipated six months.

Redevelop Group CEO Lennard Maas stated that the company intends to continue operating the department store for the time being, though the group maintains additional long-term development plans for the site.
