RedMagic 12 Pro rumored for October launch with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
The RedMagic 12 Pro series of gaming smartphones is rumored to launch in October. According to leaks from tipster WHYLAB and recent comments from RedMagic general manager Jiang Chao, the new lineup is confirmed to be in development, though official pre-launch marketing has not yet begun.
The upcoming series is expected to be among the first to utilize Qualcomm’s anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro platform. This chipset may feature a third-generation Oryon CPU architecture with performance cores capable of approaching 5GHz and a new Adreno 850 GPU to enhance high-end mobile gaming.
Technological highlights for the RedMagic 12 Pro are expected to include a continued use of under-display camera technology to maintain a full-screen experience without punch-hole cutouts. Improvements in display materials and AI algorithms may be implemented to enhance camera imaging quality. Additionally, the devices are rumored to employ a dual-cooling system combining liquid and active air cooling to manage heat during intensive gaming sessions.
