REDMAGIC has released the Astra 2, a high‑end gaming tablet positioned as the global version of its China‑only Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. The device features an AquaCore 2.0 liquid‑cooling system visible through a transparent rear panel, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip. Configurations offer 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage, a 9.06‑inch OLED display at 2.4K resolution and a 185 Hz refresh rate, and a 13 MP rear plus 9 MP front camera. Audio is handled by DTS X Ultra stereo speakers and the tablet includes dual 4D vibration, side‑mounted fingerprint authentication, and dual USB‑C ports with a charge‑bypass function. Power comes from an 8,300 mAh battery supporting 75 W fast charging. The 12 GB + 256 GB model is priced at $699 and the 16 GB + 512 GB model at $799, with global pre‑orders slated for mid‑August 2026 and full availability later that month.
