Redondela announces new social grants and infrastructure investments
The Redondela City Council has announced two major investment initiatives aimed at social support and infrastructure improvement.
First, the administration is allocating 94,000 euros in public aid for 2026 to support the municipality's social and educational fabric. This includes 40,000 euros for the maintenance of non-profit parish cultural centers to cover utility and rental costs, 24,000 euros for neighborhood association activities, and 30,000 euros for Parent-Teacher Associations (ANPAS) to support school dining halls and extracurricular activities. Mayor Digna Rivas emphasized that these resources are essential for the daily operations of local families and community centers.
Second, the municipality is progressing with its 2.7 million euro Municipal Path Investment Plan. This project aims to modernize and pave more than 70 paths throughout the region. Recent contract awards totaling 105,291 euros cover four specific routes in the parishes of Ventosela and Trasmañó. These works include asphalt renewal, drainage improvements, and the installation of concrete surfaces to enhance mobility for both vehicles and pedestrians.
