Redondela to renovate central streets to improve safety

The Redondela City Council has awarded a contract to renovate the pavement on two major central streets: José Regojo and a section of Pai Crespo. The project covers 290 linear meters with an average width of 5.50 meters, spanning the area from Plaza de Ponteareas to Plaza de Ribadavia.

The intervention aims to repair deterioration caused by cracks and potholes. Mayor Digna Rivas stated that the project is a priority due to the high density of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in these areas, noting that the improvements will enhance urban aesthetics and ensure safety.

To minimize disruption to local commerce and traffic, signaling work will be conducted at night. The project has an estimated execution period of two months. The works, costing 44,528.00 euros, are funded by the council's own resources as part of a 2.7 million euro municipal road investment plan.
