Redstone raises €25 million for ocean technology fund
Redstone has announced the first close of its ocean-focused blue economy fund, Redstone Blue, raising €25 million (approximately $29 million USD). The fund targets early-stage companies from the pre-seed to Series A stages, focusing on technological innovation to modernize legacy maritime industries and support sustainable growth.
The investment strategy is centered on four primary sectors: sustainable maritime and port systems, ocean infrastructure and clean energy, marine intelligence, and blue biotechnology and water technology. While based in the Nordic region, the fund maintains a broader European investment mandate.
Participants in the funding round include a variety of backers such as angel investors, family offices, foundations, and maritime-related corporations. Notable contributors include the City of Turku, Meriaura Invest, Aboa Advest, LähiTapiola, Kelonia, Rausanne, Adamo Capital, Henrik Paasikivi, Magnus Kihlgren, and ARGOng Investment AG.
