Reencontrándonos NGO warns of service disruption for 35 patients after OSEF contract ends
The civil association Reencontrándonos said it has had no active agreement with the provincial health insurer OSEF since March, leaving more than 35 patients in its Rio Grande and Ushuaia facilities without a clear path for continued treatment. The lack of a contract creates uncertainty over billing and payment, the NGO’s director Stella Lavenia explained.
Lavenia added that OSEF’s debt exceeds 300 million Argentine pesos, its buildings are deteriorating, municipal assistance is limited, and payments from the University of the Nation’s health insurance have been delayed since January. The latest proposal from OSEF offers lower fees but imposes a cumbersome evaluation circuit, requiring patients to undergo multiple interviews and interdisciplinary assessments before receiving mental‑health care, which the NGO says hinders timely treatment.
